Unpicking the Huipil
This study explores the huipil, a tunic-type blouse widely regarded as the most iconic garment from pre-Hispanic Mexico. Embedded among its threads is a discussion of the legacy of modernity and coloniality which uncovers the visual discourses and narratives of identity, complicity, solidarity, gender, and resistance that the huipil contains.
