It proposes a system of modular, adaptable care units that extend healthcare beyond rigid walls, creating places where healing is within reach even in uncertainty.

Every module is designed to expand, retract, or gently merge with its surroundings either to create a temporary ward, function independently as a pod, or be integrated into an existing home. Materials are selected based on their capacity for withstanding errant weather conditions, and colors are regulated based on psychology to create stability and calmness. Interior design is patient-dignity and emotional-well-being respectful in terms of gentle finishes, responsive lighting, and mobile panels upon which one may set one's own faces or patterns. Every environment, therefore, is less of a therapeutic room and more of an environment of care.

Guided by theories of precarity, biopolitics, and dromology, the project challenges the way healthcare architecture can become more proximate to the people it serves, fast, responsive, and without erasing the humanity it is centered around. Rather than fixating on care environments as static and institutional, this approach imagines them as fluid, living systems: ones that can be adjusted in response to shifting needs while having patients and caregivers at the helm.

This is a design brief as well as an invitation to rethink how we build for care: not just for treatment, but for recovery, resilience, and dignity.
