His private practice has focused on designing for retail, leisure and commercial domestic both nationally and internationally while also being a member of the international colour influence panels who forecast future colour trends. Neville has worked with the leading Irish broadcasters and production companies both presenting and designing for some of the top-rated makeover programmes such as Showhouse, Roomers and Neville’s Doorstep Challenge for the last twenty years. His present PhD research investigates the representation of interiors by media companies that create the televisual interior on Irish makeover productions between 1994 to 2014. This research investigates the strategies and tensions used in the construction, intervention, representation and manipulation, of television content.
